Not sure what to think of Picard. Far fetched or feels acted? Twins? One thing for sure, I see Xavier.
I thank the #WHO for the calling out "Respect for the Chinese Government", but they should have included "and the Chinese people". A lot of initiatives arose from the people themselves; volunteers who went to #Wuhan or drive people to the hospitals, people who stay at home themselves, companies that suggest alternatives, etc etc. It is just as much about the people. A government is nothing if the people don't support them.
people think the connectivity in China is poor, but yesterday was a testimony of it working quite well. We have FTTH and my wife was giving classes over Zoom, I was having meetings over Bluejeans, my sun was having an online class for math... all with video, while my youngest son watched some youtube over a VPN... and I pretty sure my Xbox and Steam computer were downloading some games which I bought on sale.
don't use a base container just because it is smaller consider the use, compatibility and security it offers you (and of course the release cycle and trust involved)

There is also a lot of false information on wechat about the virus, like it does not spread by coughing/sneezing. Especially elder people therefore downplay the situation. I do not understand this... what is wrong with keeping safe for yourself and others. Just wear a mouth mask... sure, they aren't perfect, but anything is better than nothing.
I live near the 2nd Ring road now (Guangqumenwai). It is pretty much empty on the road (I can count the cars on both hands). It is still holiday, so not unheard of, but it feels different.
Also, the only people in the community who do not wear any mouth masks, are the one's that just came back from their trip. They are being frowned upon. Most people stay at home. Local Wechat groups are set up to track people.
We keep distance from others...
Received 2 messages on my phone about the coronavirus; 1) Beijing Center for Disease Control and 2) from the local district/Community health centre. Even today Beijing hospital called to inform how to practise good cough and sneeze etiquette, to wash your hands often, avoid crowds and when you are ill please report yourself. Especially when you left/arrived Beijing within the last 24 hours from other provinces.
so tired/nearly exhausted...
... the situation in China prevents many things, so 'we' looked after and kept the kids at home. Eventually what happened is that this task mostly on me. Trying to balance between 'writing an important document' and 'addressing the attention of both boys' was a difficult one.
"""This was a new kind of toaster, a toaster that took orders, rather than giving them. A toaster that would give her enough rope to hang herself, let her toast a lithium battery or a can of hairspray, or anything else she wanted to toast: unauthorized bread. Even homemade bread. The idea made her feel a little queasy and a little tremorous. Homemade bread was something she’d read about in books, seen in old dramas, but she didn’t know anyone who actually baked bread."""
