Okay really quick and rough version, but a good start. This is my progress on my Fediverse for Photographers blog.

@geoff_eg Nice blog for new #photographers who want to discover the #Fediverse #Mastodon and #Pixelfed 
Some suggestions:
- I discovered the Fediverse a few years ago myself. The welcome part confuses me a bit, but I have to admit that it is a nice description of a lot of important information 
I would rename the first three: "the world", "people in your city" and "news from outside your city".
- For additional photo hashtags, check the list on https://mastodon.de/@holger/113680807514708062
@geoff_eg And maybe you could add a section:
"It's all about real people and real connections":
- Make sure you use some sort of profile picture. Put some meaningful text in your bio.
- If you want to be liked, then start by liking other people's posts. Or give people a boost or a nice response

@geoff_eg this good stuff and very helpful for someone who has no clue what they are doing here 
. It sounds like at this point there is no real point in having both a Mastodon account and Pixelfed account. Is that accurate? Will I see the likes of lPixelfed, PeerTube etc popping up in my Mastodon discover section? Just wondering how I will find those accounts too. This was a good intro and helps me wrap my head around this a bit more before completely diving in.
