👋 Hi. How’s it going? I’m Geoffrey (pronounced like the twit on GOT, not “Jeffrey”; he/him). I’m a dad, husband, writer, both an educator and a student, freelance editor, and a (mostly) #ttrpg gamer (D&D, CoC, VTM, Everway). I’ve been here since 2018(!), but I kept on at Twitter due to sunken-cost-fallacy-type thinking and some hope I could rekindle the reading/writing community that was once there. Recent events made me re-evaluate my usage, which brought me back to Mastodon! #introduction
And it’s not just Potter. Hunnicutt, when he arrives, is supposedly just out of his residency, which would place him around 30 (probably a little younger) and his daughter Erin is an infant. Mike Farrell (the actor playing Hunnicutt) was 36 when he started and 41 in Season 9… but in the Christmas episode of that season he says it would be Erin’s first time putting the star on the tree. 🤔
One of my biggest issues? Season 9 was 1980-81. When Potter first starts, he states he was 16 when he joined the AEF (he lied about his age) in 1917. Thus, Potter is supposed to be turning 50 in 1951.
That means Potter is supposed to be just a year older than I am now, but Harry Morgan (the actor portraying Potter) was 65 in 1980. 🤯
I’ve been rewatching M*A*S*H over the past nine-ish months and its lack of care in continuity kills me. Granted, the show aired for 11 seasons at a time when it was very difficult to go back and watch old episodes. But here I am, six episodes into Season 9, and they’re celebrating New Year’s of 1950 to 1951. Way back in Season 3 or so, Eisenhower had won the presidential election… in 1952. Not a huge thing, but noticeable when you binge the series.

A new episode of BabylonSquared is up and making its way to podcatchers everywhere! In this episode, we discuss... um... "Babylon Squared." 😮 Time for some Zathras! #babylon5
Well, that's done. My 11-year-old #Twitter account is no more. I can't say I feel bad.
Orson keeping me company while I sort out my teaching portfolio and finish up assignments for my last class (then I just have a final exam next week… followed by classes starting up again on May 9 😭). #caturday
Neal Adams has died. His (and Denny O'Neil's) Batman was iconic for me and is what I think of as *my* Batman. Really, all the DC characters he touched—Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Green Arrow, and more—stand out in my mind as the definitive versions. I read his Superman vs Muhammad Ali hundreds of times. But... Adams's Batman was perfection.

I also contribute to two podcasts! This Podcast Bites (https://thispodcastbites.thepodcasting.studio) is about #vampires in media (books, movies, TV, games, etc.). BabylonSquared (https://babylonsquared.thepodcasting.studio) is a (mostly…) weekly #babylon5 rewatch podcast. If either of those pique your interest, please check us out! Thanks!

Well. It’s done… I’m sorry to let Twitter go, but I’ve been expecting to walk away for years. Still bittersweet. https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/elon-musk-to-acquire-twitter-301532245.html
