See, I'm wondering... I got active on Mastodon mainly via #metafilter and I like that community, so I'm on this instance.
I don't really have many issues with birbsite because I mainly engage with #teachers or local people in #Tokyo and #Japan.
But, should I really be on scholar.social for #academic, #ELT, #openeducation, and #pedagogy stuff?
Or, is the better way to do both? Leaning towards both but wondering if that will be cumbersome...
Halp me!
@slipstream Thanks for the app suggestions. I think that's what I need. Managing multiple in Tusky seems like it might not be that great.
@gotanda (Fellow mefite here. Hi!) I know folks who have multiple accounts for their personae. One for tech stuff, one for chatting, etc. Totally doable. You can also just hang on one and make friends on the other. (Since the big difference between instances is what you see in the Local Timeline, following people from there will mean you'll see them boost other scholar.social users and can feed your follow list that way.) You can do one, the other, or try one now and change later!
@RexfordGTugwell @gotanda I have cake and beans. #mefi party
@gotanda you can use both, apps like tootdon (mobile) and kurotodon (chrome) help with that, also you can use those to view the timeline of any instance
