I really want to follow some norwegian folks on here since I have plans to move and work there in the future. If you know someone like this in the fediverse or are one, especially if they/you are queer/LGBTQ+, let me know! If you know any good norwegian instances I would love some recs too!

I got the Inoreader Pro trial and I like it so far (filtering and following social media pages is pretty great). I just wish there was a way to export annotations + highlights of articles I read from Inoreader to a markdown file so I could easily get them into my Obsidian vault.

I appreciate any tips and ideas for Inoreader -> Obsidian workflow (that don't require paying for yet another subscription service)!

What is everybody using for syncing contents of two directories on the same local drive? 📁 ↔️ 📁 A / solution is preferred but I don't mind a paid / proprietary option if it's genuinely good!

Boosts welcome! :boost_requested:

Throwing this out to the people out there - What makes more sense for a character page that's got a mix of own images and images that're from other people? A multi-photo post? Or a collection post?

Asking since I'm trying to think of how I should mark up my preview image and images fields in my PW install.

Recommendations for an #activitypub #indieweb compatible, but mostly static, microblog for self service photo posting? ... preferably not written in PHP, or JS? Is this even a thing?

Hey all: am going to be updating this page on our Instance website, cleaning out some inactive ones, and adding new voices in the #Fediverse #Indieweb #HumaneTech #Calmtech and #Openweb space that are in the Fediverse.

Any suggestions for new additions?

My capsule is up! It includes my which is generated from my website microblog, which is also syndicated as tweets/toots via . Very cool that all these technologies can play well with each other and are easy to script to my liking.

If you like, you could use Brid.gy to get comments and reactions back from Twitter with Webmention support for your site. I’ve outlined some of it for how I’m doing it on WordPress, but the idea is very adaptable for any website out there, and there’s a growing list of pre-existing code one could leverage.

(Hint: this also works for other common social platforms which Bridgy supports. As examples, I’ve got two-way communication set up between my site and Github and Mastodon just to name a few, so I don’t need to actively visit those sites on a regular basis. I pipe most of the content into a social reader like Monocle or Indigenous and reply directly from there.)

Webmention can be used as some of the community glue for things you’ve mentioned in your thread as well. As an example, I can post on my website and syndicate that content to IndieWeb.xyz (using Webmention) where others can discover it (perhaps by category) and interact with it using their own websites. If they have Webmention support as well we can have a site to site conversation that could potentially all be mirrored on IndieWeb.xyz which acts as a conversation and discovery hub.

This ecosystem is slowly growing and flourishing, but we still need work on making it all easier and more accessible as well as helping to guard against potential abuses and bad actors to make things safer for bigger public communities at scale. (I notice you’ve got a great site, that touches on and covers some of these topics like security and identity.)

Blogged: Updating My Hugo Blog From My Phone
jayeless.net/2021/04/updating-

I've seen a number of ways that people achieve this, but this (using SSH and rsync) is mine 😅 May be useful for #indieweb blogs if Micropub seems too hard to implement (i.e. the situation I was in).

Taking the weekend out of the bird place to hang here has been a suprising reminder how much holding my head against the fire hose of the world's suffering, rage, despair, coping strategies, snark and curiosities has impacted my experience of, & perhaps contribution to, the web.

Can't begin to say how good it is to see that not only is the #indieweb alive and kicking, it's accesible enough to be good for connection & self-learning without too much struggle. Thank you to all who've enabled that.

Webmentions for static websites via nginx log formats. This is amazing. :D

If you know of a solution that can allow:

- app placement and availability across clouds
- making it simple to use a OCI image to define apps and individually configure them
- routing them using some sort of proxy + load balancer (think haproxy, envoy, nginx)
- associating them dynamically to domain names

then I'd love to hear it

While the title it a bit off (it only mentions the indieweb movement briefly) this is probably one of the better videos explaining how the modern social media based web is a grotesque corruption of the original ideas behind the web. All explained in a very funny way...

Bookmarked indiepaper.io/.

What if I used Indigenous to send “read” posts to my site and then have my server automatically push these articles—i.e., for URLs—to a specific “feed” in my reader? Same way I treat YouTube vids, kind of. I’d no longer need a separate read-it-later app!
