The only ways to reduce gun violence in the U.S. are 1) legal prohibitions on the manufacture and sale of guns, especially automatic and semi-automatic weapons to civilians; 2) civil liability for irresponsible sale and marketing of guns to the criminal market. I believe the Second Amendment clearly permits both. If the Supreme Court continues to develop precedents that suggest otherwise, then the 2A will have to be revised or repealed.
