Is there a reason for wanting to have racially segregated servers?
I support integration, not segregation.
Artists haven't experienced attempted cultural genocide, and can engage with their interests freely. First nations have historically been the target of social and cultural genocide, not to mention literal actual genocide, and continue to suffer for it. Having a community to freely engage with your culture, language, and interests is a good thing and should be encouraged.
And they would still federate with everyone, as you doubtless understand, right?
So do I understand you correctly, are you really arguing in favor of segregation?
Are you sure about that?
And do you really think the historic treatment of First Nations by Canada is something that anyone in the world should endorse or seek to emulate?
'Canada 150 is a celebration of Indigenous genocide'
You asked, "Is your argument 'they should have no choice but to take the dominant culture as their own, for their own good' by way of calling an interest and culture based instance 'racial segregation."
No, that is not my argument.
Insulting people you don't know and have never met by making up malicious lies about them isn't a substitute for a well-reasoned and factually supported rational, ethical, or moral argument.
@hhardy01 By your logic mastodon.art should not exist since artists should simply integrate everywhere else
I mean the term "segregated" in precisely its historic sense and connotation.
"Let us be dissatisfied until integration is not seen as a problem but as an opportunity to participate in the beauty of diversity."

@hhardy01 Mastodon servers are formed around communities, and communities form around interests as well as identities. There's servers about tech and servers for LBGT people, there's servers for specific cities like Bonn, there's servers for people who speak Gaelic.
