I just spoke to MSFT about the racist, sexist, ableist, elitist history and culture of higher ed + CS ed and how the pandemic has amplified it. For those who know this history, enjoy the solidarity; for those who don't, brace yourselves. docs.google.com/presentation/d

JSON outputs \uXXXX and Lua expects \u{XXXX}

looks like the stars miraculously aligned and the output that JSON.stringify() generates happens to be a valid quoted Lua string?

I did get my faux-SNES USB controller working, though, and had some fun playing Celeste :)

mind blown listening to a radio from Malta β€” I've read before that Maltese mixes Italian and Arabic influences... but hearing it and picking up recognizable words from both languages in the same sentence is amazing!

I've just seen the word "adroitly" for the first time and I swear I read it as "Γ -droit-ly" (as a mashup between French and English), which happens to be the actual etimology, and I can't bring myself to "mispronounce" the "droit" to match the way Merriam-Webster tells me to.
