Weather forecast says heavy rains for next three days, so got everything that I needed for the next week; mostly pet food.
Now having a chai before riding through that misty village below to my farm another 30ish min away.
Reached home a while ago, had dinner, now to see if it really rains as much as the forecast.
Light rain started at around midnight and has been steadily increasing in intensity, as of 7am, my weather station has noted 16mm rain.
Woke up at 6, had a coffee, then got back under the blanket, with several cats for company.
With weather like this, who wants to be out and about? Oh wait, I have cows who need to graze! *puts on raincoat*
Been raining all day with few minutes of break - just enough to start preparing for an outdoor task, and resuming right as one is ready to step out.
As of 16:30, 43.6mm rain has been observed.
Since midnight, it has rained 75mm as of 19:30.
Weather predictions seemed more dire, but it is potential, not measure. The potential did deliver tho!
We're at 89mm rain in last 12 hours since midnight, 10mm to break yesterday's record :-P
It's been without much of a break so the weather station is counting one and half days as one rain event.
@hiway Wow. That’s a lot of rain!!!!!
@SeaFury yus, but over whole day, so, not disastrous
@hiway I'm sorry that you're experiencing such excessive rain. I hope that your crops will survive.
@hiway That's a lot. Is it still okay? Referring to flooding.
@morph yes, I'm close to the max elevation for these hills, with a catchment area not larger than 4sq km - there's a *lot* of water flowing through my small valley, but nothing to worry about.
Just that my animals are very bored, and cows who insisted on going out in rain in the morning weren't too happy about it by late evening.
@hiway
Better being bored than trouble.
@morph yes, any day!
@hiway Are you and your animals safe? That amount of rain seems apocalyptic. I'm picturing you in need of a helicopter rescue, but don't know whether helicopters could rescue cows. :-(
@hiway That’s mental
@hiway I don't envy you, but I most certainly admire you for riding like this
@fschaap thank you! It's more out of necessity than want. My small car can't climb out of the last kilometer of deeply rutted mud tracks (rains 9+ months) except when we've just fixed the path. So default is motorcycle for everything.
