I couldn't resist a quick solo play of Finspan. My initial thoughts:
Not necessarily easier than Wingspan but definitely more streamlined and less fiddly.
I love the mechanic where to play some fish you spend cards from your hand but they go to your discard pile and can easily be brought back.
Resources are simplified and don't feel as constricted as Wingspan.
So far I prefer Finspan and think it’ll get played more often than Wingspan.
The one thing I’d change is to add cards for the fish that are permanently on the board, or at least make them look more like cards but that would probably spoil the look of the board.
I had to force myself to remember they were there, especially once I’d put a few fish out. I know extra cards would add to the set up though. Anyway, it's just a minor thing.

@Vidyala Will do! I wasn’t planning to get it as I already have Wingspan but I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. I actually thought it was a joke when it was announced! 
@howrandom It sort of looks like an April Fool's Joke. (fun fact, in French April Fool's is "Poisson d'Avril," April Fish, haha). I don't own Wingspan or any of its variants, I've only played them online!
@Vidyala It really did look like an April fools joke! Wrymspan looked too much like Wingspan so I skipped it but Finspan looks to be different enough.
@howrandom I’ve been so tempted to grab a copy but I probably don’t need it given I already have wingspan…
@olivvybee Once I’ve played it (probably Sunday) I’ll post a comparison. I have Wingspan too but Finspan seems different enough.
