The #delightful project, btw, was created by me, and it is still in its early days.
I'd be delighted if you are interested in maintaining your own curated list on a subject that has your passion
@humanetech All of Open Science is a too big topic for one person. But this week I have started making a list for Open Science News sources, the ones I use to create the Open Science Feed. https://reddit.com/r/Open_Science/wiki/index
To make this into a #delightful project, I would have to put it on Codeberg (already have an account) and then ask you to link it or how does the cross linking work? Newbie for these lists.
@OpenScienceFeed thank you for your interest, very nice! There can be as many topical lists as people want to create and maintain. There's instruction on how to set one up, and you can either PR or file an issue to notify me.
PS. I just started an open science list with one other person, not yet announced. It is for collecting tools, foss, etc .. everything that is in support of making science open (but not for works of open science, i.e the research itself).
Hi @OpenScienceFeed I created that issue here: https://codeberg.org/teaserbot-labs/delightful/issues/14
@openscience maybe you are also interested in partaking in some great collection building?
@openscience that is no problem at all. The more people the more fun (and action).
The curated #delightful lists will continue to grow and gain more visibility over time.
This is similar to how the awesome project works, where I maintain awesome-humane-tech for 3 years now:
And this is the top-level awesome by Sindre Sorhus: https://github.com/sindresorhus/awesome
Do you think a list on scientific writing would be a good addition?
@ashwinvis thank you for reaching out, and a great list you are maintaining right there 👍
I think 'scientific-writing' would be splendid to have as a separate #delightful list (mirror/sync with GH *may* be possible, and can add delightful badge on GH then).
As for merging the entries with 'open-science' less so, as many entries like vim, diagrams.net are not *directly* #openscience related. We'll parse for entries, though. Added to:
Better place is the #ActivityPub watchlist that co-maintain:
@humanetech Great curation! Thanks for it.
Just it is hosted in a wrong place. Github and Gitlab (the official instance) are not where such projects to be hosted. They have done more and worse than what US inhuman sanctions against several nationalities. I hope FLOSS community opt to use more ethical solutions.
@ahangarha I agree with you on that. The awesome list will remain on Github, as the top-level awesome is there too.
But I've created a different alternative to awesome: #delightful project
Similar to awesome project anyone who wants to do so can maintain there own delightful list, be mentioned top-level and participate in the badge program. Regardless of location (GH, codeberg, notabug).
Server run by the main developers of the project It is not focused on any particular niche interest - everyone is welcome as long as you follow our code of conduct!
