goabase.de (now redirect to goabase.net) never die 😍

Next problem to solve : spotify and their friends.

Cheers from France 🍄

Hey @gimulnautti ;

(I'm french and not really fluent in english)

As I understand, fediverse and instances works by communities federation.

Generalist instance like mastodon.social are great quickfix to escape from unethical BigTech, but I think the next step is to open and animate some #psytrance instances to push the move forward.

I'm curious to have your opinion about this.
(And I will listen this set through NewPipe)

Have a good day!

@reminec @humanspectrumrecords Yasss!

I agree. In missing a reliable instance for psytrance afficiandos, I just chose the largest possible instance for discoverability.

When such an instance comes up.. Or perhaps I will one day host one myself..

@gimulnautti

@humanspectrumrecords

Yeah, I understand your move right now :)

Also,
Hosting is a thing,
Animate (and moderate) is an other.

Happy to "discover" you !

On a other subject, do you have write something about (music x intellectual property x current economic state) ?

Trying to say it differently : "FreeMusic" like "FreeSoftware" (!= "free beer")

(Escape from Spotify and others predatory model)

I'm curious to read more about your thoughts 🤓

@reminec @humanspectrumrecords Yes. Moderating is the primary reason I don't feel up to hosting an instance. It's a full-time job.

About music not paying the authors. Yes it's completely horrible.

You can get more money in a week from just a bandcamp release than from streaming in 10 years.

One release might cost up to 500 euros for us. We won't make that money back from streaming.. ever.

The only way to make an actual income is festivals and getting lucky with mainstream media or tiktok...

@humanspectrumrecords
I'm so glad to hear Meta is dying. That needed to happen long ago.
