Here in #Taiwan, some people, are already preparing for the possibility of a war with #China.
The Kuma Academy trains Taiwanese civilians to understand modern warfare, #disinformation first aid and evacuation planning.
The classes sell out within hours.
The idea is to increase resilience – to be more like Ukraine, its founder Shen told me, so that if an invasion or blockade by China happened, they’d have the skills to resist.
The students are taught about the unique geography of #Taiwan and how this would affect an invasion and that if #China were to invade it would likely be either during March-April or September-October when the #Taiwanstrait is calmer.
"We are worried about China taking Taiwan… We hope to be well prepared," said Lucy Liu, professor in Taipei, explaining why she’s at the training. "In Taiwan, you can see people like me who believe that war is coming."
