@deshipu because I figured out all the fun stuff, I just have to write. Which is boring. Also I am less than happy with my advisor, but I think that is true of all phd work.
@inmysocks And mutual. And no, you haven't figured it all out, that's the trick your brain plays on you to avoid working. The devil is in the details and I'm sure that once you get to writing it all down properly, you will find a lot of interesting problems and holes in your reasoning. There is also a certain craftsman's pride in writing something down properly and clearly -- it doesn't have to be boring!
The Evil Villain Society Of Doom and Puppies was a bit surprised that one of the early members, @aldersprig, was a self professed cat-person. Any worries about this were quickly silenced as @aldersprig very quickly demonstrated a ruthlessness and facility with puppies that earned the title 'Hiker and Chief of Puppies'.
World beware, you have been warned. The Hiking Puppies Of Doom are coming.

Not many people know, but the reason that @dartigen is eternally tired is that @dartigen is in change of the chihuahua puppies. And as we all know chihuahua's are vampires that suck the life out of anything around them. Thus the role of @dartigen is chihuahua food.
But don't tell anyone, it is a secret.
at first you may assume that @Wsteria is just another faceless goon in the ranks of the Evil Villain Society Of Doom. Afterward you may assume the same thing, as any organisation Of Doom must have many faceless goons and puppy groomers Of Doom.
But you would be wrong both times. The Evil Villain Society Of Doom is a young society Of Doom, and as such we only currently have one faceless goon Of Doom, @Wsteria, you can't have 'just another' when you only have one
.@inmysocks I've always appreciated the importance of subordinates in a hierarchy! If and when there is a broader Goon Union or Henchperson Collective, I look forward to being a member in good standing.
In the Evil Villain Society Of Doom and Puppies we have two general classes of members, one is the Villains Of Doom and the other group are the faceless goons and puppy groomers Of Doom. @DialMforMara fits squarely into the first category. She is in charge of finding the most evilly adorable puppies to swell our ranks Of Doom to further our agenda.
For the moment this she has the most important job because none of us have gotten farther in the agenda than playing with puppies.
In the Evil Villain Society Of Doom and Puppies we also have technological aid in our conquest. Part of this is the nefarious @liate, who, despite clearly saying 'not a bot', is in fact a very advanced bot created to further our purposes in the world.
This was going well until @liate realised that puppies are adorable. Now we have an amazingly advanced bot that does nothing but find the finest puppy gifs online and work to perfect the robotic puppy petting arm.

And then there is @imthebatmax , perhaps the less said here the better....
But then what would be point of being part of a society Of Doom if I listened to things like that?
You see, @imthebatmax is one of our evilest(tm) members. So much so that one time when a baby asked to play with one of the puppies @imthebatmax picked up the puppy and ran off giggling.
Later the two of them were seen frolicking around through a nearby park chasing leaves. It was adorable
In the Evil Villain Society Of Doom and Puppies we have spaces for all sorts. This is demonstrated the fact that as far as anyone can tell @jason_the_concurror just joined on a whim and isn't particularly interested in Evil, Villains, Societies, Puppies or Doom. We just have the best rec room of any of the groups around and one day @jason_the_concurror wandered in and then never left.

Our first member who seems to be attracted by the 'Evil Villain' and 'Of Doom' parts of the Evil Villain Society Of Doom and Puppies is @RussSharek@mastodon.cloud
Although there have been many attempts by @RussSharek@mastodon.cloud to organise our impressive array of villainous potential, to date they have all been thwarted by the appearance of at least a dozen adorable puppies Of Doom at key moments during discussions of nefarious schemes. The cuteness really breaks the flow of the scheming.
In a now familiar event at the Evil Villain Society Of Doom and Puppies @garbados just yelled 'OMG A SNEK!!' in the middle of nap time, causing a panic among the half asleep members. To make things more interesting she randomly hurls either a pile of puppies or incredibly deadly snakes into room as she yells it.
We all live in fear of the day that she discovered the dreaded puppy-snek, most deadly and adorable of the snek varieties.
in case anyone was wondering, nap time, like puppies, is one of the fundamental pieces that make the Evil Villain Society Of Doom and Puppies what it is today.

@garbados the behaviour of the Evil Villain Society Of Doom and Puppies is becoming a bit more misanthropic as the day goes on.
@lex_jay was the first official member of the Evil Villain Society Of Doom and Puppies. This earned him the title 'Premiere Minion Of Doom', but it seems to be a bit of a misnomer as he was put in charge of the corgi puppies and it is hard to really be Of Doom when you can't stop laughing at the objectively funny animals.
