politics, law, genocide
I always think it's odd when people talk about "constitutional crisis." We're a country that, early on, had a president ignore the supreme court's interpretation of a law and just committed genocide anyway because he couldn't get enough of killing American Indians. In a country where that happened, is there such a thing as a constitution being in crisis?

maybe on a smaller level, if you'd like. It's illegal for you to defend yourself against a cop. Someone can beat your ass because they're a cop, and there's nothing you can do about it legally in that moment. If they decide to let you live, you can then sue them. But legally, you can't defend your own body and life without breaking the law doing so.
