It's especially frustrating on mobile because we do have some mobile Mastodon apps installed, we just haven't managed to get used to any of them. We're not sure if any of the apps we have can even do cross-server follows, but we've never made it work, so we always have to wait until we can do it on desktop.

It's not that there hasn't been an effort to streamline that; it's about as streamlined as it can be, even in principle. But at a minimum, we need to open people's follow links on devices that have our Mastodon login, and that's really quite a nuisance.

We find Mastodon's UX frustrating, and we just realized, a large part of that is because we hardly ever toot. Almost all our interactions with Mastodon are trying to do cross-server follows, which is really quite tedious.

We may have to spend slightly more words than that on the topic next time, but apparently we still got a lot of thanks for the talk despite confusing everyone over pronouns all through it, so maybe not that big a deal

They were somewhat confused who "we" referred to, but whatever lol. We mentioned plurality in passing at the start, gave a link on DID, and moved on, because we're kind of bored with always explaining it

So if we want to get more bad news about the world on Mastodon, who should we follow?

We already failed at this, we just couldn't handle being separated from the constant feed of bad news about the world.

But we're trying to at least spend more time on Mastodon.

Hmm. So far we're feeling withdrawal from the constant sense of fear about politics

Last time we made a serious effort to change our habits, there were no good mobile apps for Mastodon, so it was a nonstarter

Okay, Twitter is doing annoying things, we're challenging ourselves to only use Mastodon this weekend

We logged in to Mastodon tonight because we heard someone died, someone who was well-loved to at least some people we know here.

We didn't know her, as far as we can tell. She sounds like quite a person. If any of you did, we're very sorry for your loss, and we wanted to let you know we're mourning with you.

Huh. Haven't logged into Mastodon in a while. The "Home" view is no longer showing toots by beings we follow, although there have been some. Is that an intentional change, or a bug, or it's just we need to fix a setting, or...?

Earlier, we pulled off our first Tetris perfect clear in an actual PuyoPuyo Tetris match. Twenty lines of garbage, or something like that.

And then we lost that game. :) High-ranking Puyo players are scary!
