It strikes me as weird that World Goth Day isn’t on Halloween, since like, that’s the day ANYONE can and is encouraged to be goth. Holding it in the middle of May does weed out the people who can’t wear heavy black clothing in the heat, but doesn’t that kind of smack of elitism
