@irisjaycomics Holy shit WHAT?!

That's... seriously fucking cool! :D

I swear this state's structure rapid-cycles between "lawful stupid" and "seriously fucking cool" to me.

@irisjaycomics do you know where the person in the tweet got their source? I can't seem to find anything else on it?

@Anarchist_Mallrat @irisjaycomics I found a source from 2018 claiming the same thing... but nothing else?

@lesbianhacker @Anarchist_Mallrat Weird. This is from the official Ingersoll Gender twitter account, and it was posted yesterday, so I'm not sure why they'd lie about it? I'll ask and check on our state's Department of Licensing website just to make sure.

@irisjaycomics @Anarchist_Mallrat the current rules still say you need documentation proving you're the gender you want to change to, whether that be documents that exist proving it or documents from a doctor, but I figure they won't update until the rules update

@irisjaycomics

Be mindful that by changing your ID in the State of WA that you will then be in a database that is shared with the federal government, where your gender marker change could be revealed, shared or used to put you on a list.

Where I'm getting my info: I went to the actual public comment period that took place before the law changed to allow enby id in mid-August of this year, and it was one of the biggest points raised by transgender people who otherwise supported the law change.

@raye i already changed my gender marker on my driver's license and i literally scream about how trans i am online constantly, so if there's a list i'm probably already on it. also just let me feel GOOD about this small victory for our state, damn friendo

@irisjaycomics now that the state where I was born will let me change my birth certificate and WA just passed this, I am starting to make plans to change all my paperwork and ID.

I want this change too, but I also want everyone who moves forward with it to have full disclosure of the mixed reality and challenges.

@irisjaycomics I don't think it used to cost to change it either, leastways I don't remember getting charged for it, but good good good.
