This is so quintessentially American consumerism: someone wants to buy some things but her *problem* is that it's always marked down, so she doesn't know when she'll get the best deal.

For some reason I don't even understand this way of thinking. You need something? You can afford it at this price? Then buy it. Or do you not actually need the thing but just want to get satisfaction from buying something at the cheapest price possible? Then don't buy it at all!
