Back to , I'm down to my last two Binaries of unpainted minis.

The Turkina and the Ebon Jaguar will go to my 3rd Falcon Talon Cluster, the five Secon Line 'Mechs will become either Dark Wing, aka Solahma, or Clan Wolf Delta Galaxy. My Falcons need targets :P Also, there's more than enough of Wolf Beta units in general.

We'll see what I end up with, I may also frell up the attempt at the not-too-descriptive "lowland camo" if I go for some Wolves... 😬

I spent a good 45 minutes slicing masking tape into odd shapes and sizes, then setting said shreds onto the three minis. That took enough concentration to remove all work stuff from my brain, so it was pretty relaxing in its own way.

My partner had observed this behaviour from afar, and said she would've thrown each thing to the trash and it would've gotten on her nerves with its incredible tediousness.

Which is why this is not her hobby but mine 😅

I didn't have any Vallejo $lineName Air greens light enough, so I overbrushed some thinned down VMC Light Green instead.

My lighter green drybrushing wasn't light enough after all so it doesn't really stand out.

Only in not-shared infantry POV photos I took I saw there were still some hiding tape bits no matter how many times I had checked. Always the same with these 😅

I guess I got both inspired and lucky with timing, I managed to paint the bare metals. Or at least the first round, using slightly thinned-down VMA Dark Grey / RLM66. Highlights maybe tomorrow, if I manage to steal the time.

As usual, my bare metal bits are the various weapon barrels / faces, vents, and joints that look like the part. I also try to keep in mind that I'll be adding some jade highlights here and there later, so no plan is ever really locked.

Bare metals drybrushed, jade details added in limited quantities, a few pale hazard strips on each also done, and the barrels and viewports done in flat black. Fun and quick.

My unpainted metal method can't, or at least I won't call it NMM because I'm not even trying to replicate any reflections or other neat effects 😋

Next I'll get to do my bad freehandings, then it's oil time already, yay! No, I still haven't gotten around to order FPG decals to try 😬

I got the Gamma Galaxy and the Cluster insignias freehanded on the legs, but I found no suitable slot on the Ebon Jaguar for a Clan emblem, so it was left without. The unit numbers were left black, I didn't want to mess them up (more) with a light grey.

Last evening's sepia wash got cleaned up, now they're drying in the sauna again. I'll doublecheck the cleanup in the evening, and if things are good, I'll get to the part, yay!

Just about done with the three Points: jewelings and whatnots were quick and fun. I added some electric blue to the barrel slits of the PPCs, just because, and added yellowish lenses for LRM and other sensors.

This was the second and last time, I think, I tried the heat stress effect on dark grey base, next time I'll use metallic paint. Turkina's front viewport is imperfect and I'm ok with it :D The black drybrushed AC soot might've been too subtle 🤔 Oh well

The three latest Points for the 3rd Falcon Talon Cluster are done, they're just missing the proper photos.

For the ground I used some Vallejo's brown mud, drybrushed with Dirt, and a couple of pebblelike bits painted with Cold Grey for tiny variance. Hex edges and the front stripes got painted with Pz Dark Grey. This was quick and fun, even if I'm slightly less pleased with my this time.

Proper photos of the three Jade Falcons, had also taken some comparison shots of these and the IWM minis I had painted 15-20 years ago :D
