@lopsigon Yeah, it’s a real lemon of an OS. Even brand-new PCs in the shop have trouble running it. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bh07qAVhbXu/
@lopsigon Well done—that’s real persistence. Sometimes I ignore the password box (blank) and it might let you in. I was stubborn and found a way to not create the MS account, though I can’t remember how—it was a random stumble. You also need to turn off a lot of the “send your data to Microsoft” settings.
The ads suck, eventually you tune them out because of their sheer irrelevance. The ad tiles can be shifted lower and you can populate the visible part of the menu with useful ones instead.
@jackyan Hahhh...
It took a day or so, but I finally got W10 to install... or so I thought... because it dropped me at the login screen without the create-user step... so there I was, staring at "defaultuser0" and an unsolvable password box.
Ran the install again.
Somehow worked that time.
The "create an online Microsoft account" part was wild. They go through a lot of effort to discourage you in making a normal user account.
Now the ads in the start menu...
We paid for this?
