Do not understand why anyone would ever boost one of those cross-posted tweets that has the "RT" text and Twitter links in them.

To be fair I also do not understand why anyone would ever want those cross-posts to exist like that, either.

@Gargron as someone who does still use Twitter (as many people don’t are not on the fediverse yet) and uses a bridge, I don’t understand why there’s not better tools to cross-post.

I do like @crossposter, and don’t really expect people to manually post to two networks. If we want to help the next magnitude of people to migrate, it needs to be very easy _and_ integrated to first just set up a profile to crosspost to test the waters.

@jancborchardt @crossposter There is Postybirb, a desktop client that lets you post to multiple platforms at once, including Twitter and Mastodon.

I don't know what you imagine as even more integration, with Twitter closing down API access the less we depend on it, the better.

@Gargron yeah, even more integration is of course difficult with the API limits and the need to invest resources in the first place. :\ I’m not sure either.

The point is that most people don’t want to spend a lot of time with setting up tech. Needing to configure a 3rd-party bridge or installing a separate app is a higher barrier.

I don’t necessarily have a solution, but we should understand people’s situations and keep it in mind.
