[2] but it's so very important to remember that not all portrayals of an LGBTQ character or story, created by an LGBTQ creator, are going to be perfect or positive or to your liking. Nor should they be.
So often our creations as LGBTQ people reflect our experiences as a person in a homophobic and transphobic society and should we not have the creative license to express that?*
*In a way that is responsible and nuanced and not just done for a kneejerk reaction etc. etc.?

@jasminehenry -- was thinking this morning about how one of my disabled characters is dealing with a lot of ableism, and worried about people getting upset about how the disabled character is treated, but the ableism is straight out o fmy life experience, the shit I went through with my family.
