Reviewing old research notes for the book: the first sketch I ever made for Horse Mountain Village 馬山村. After much editing and re-drawing, I used this village map for my tote bag:

Tfw you find the perfect reference photo for your book but it’s from a PhD dissertation from the 60s in the rare book section of the library that you’re not allowed to photograph so you furiously scrawl down what you can see because the photo is real old and 80% faded away #research #library #graphicnovel
