The biggest argument for https on plain sites is that I don't want bad ISPs and coffeeshop WiFi injecting ads and cryptominers into random web pages.

note here: My hosting provider doesn't support letsencrypt. So it costs me money, time and effort to switch a couple of low volume, low profile websites to https. I appreciate that I should do this. Just like I should put up cookie and GDPR warnings. But it's mildly annoying that I have to.
