The number of people logging into this thing for the first time and expecting a feature-for-feature match with Other Social Network Service is kind of bumming me out.
I like that this is a different-ass thing with actual culture to it. It's been nicely calming and doesn't feel like HOT BUSINESS GUNS the way other services do.
Or, to put it another way... will #gameing ever trend again?
@jeffgerstmann This really nails how I feel about Mastodon. It feels exactly like early days Twitter, when everything was new and exciting and people were genuinely happy to interact with each other because it was all fresh and neat.
@jeffgerstmann This isn't the first time something like this has happened so I'm hopeful things can bounce back. Still it's a bummer.
