I'm Jeri.

After many years in the corporate world, I've been a self-employed professional organizer since 2004, helping people deal with their clutter. I also edited a local magazine for six years - a fun gig.

My life is ruled by my , Sunshine and Moonshadow.

I live in the San Francisco .

I'm a fan of good , a traveler (often solo), a book club member, and a volunteer at coastsidehope.org.

You know how people can be on Nextdoor, so when I read "Saw this guy cruising the neighborhood" I wondered what *that* would be about. Turns out it was a lovely bird, perhaps a heron. Whew!

Still using birdsite. One of the people I follow there just said his cat has cancer; another is dealing with a lost 16-year-old cat. Sitting here in tears over other people & their beloved cats.

A new creperie is opening in my small town. Photos/menu made it seem they made savory crepes with white flour crepes, which is not OK with me, crepe purist that I am. But a query confirmed buckwheat crepes will indeed be an option. So now I have a new place to check out.

Utley asked me to post this picture of him in the new hat I got him, so he can appeal for a new and better human who will not humiliate him for the sake of cuteness.

Today's cat is Henry, an ex-feral that a friend rescued when he almost died of kidney failure. Now he follows her around the house & sleeps in her bed with her.

Trying to decide whether or not to cancel my @NewYorker subscription. On the one hand, they published @RonanFarrow - yay! On the other hand, they just invited Steve Bannon to headline their festival & only revoked the invite after it caused an uproar.

My free trial month of Amazon Prime was about to expire, so I canceled it last night to avoid any charges. I had to click about five times to confirm I really DID want to cancel. Really, Amazon — not everyone needs Prime.

Things that make me happy: If my microwave has to die (as it did last night), having it die in a month where I have a 20% off coupon for the local hardware store (which is where I buy things like this).

Things that make me happy: Drivers during rush hour who stop and let me in. (My side street doesn't have a light.)

Just checked out my city's wonderful new library which opened last Saturday. It's a super-inviting space to enjoy books, use a computer, etc.

Another bit of gratitude: I'm thankful for the Apple support guy who spent hours on the phone with me until we found a solution to my weird problem. Apple's first level phone support is often not very helpful, but once you get to the right person it's fantastic.

Just back from an annual eye exam, about a year after right eye cataract surgery - and everything is looking good. (Yay!) Thankful for my great ophthalmologist.

don't say I didn't warn you

Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry
Never gonna say goodbye
Never gonna tell a lie and hurt you
Never gonna give you up
Never gonna let you down
Never gonna run around and desert you
Never gonna make you cry

My normal job as a Coastside Hope volunteer is front desk receptionist, (and unofficial proofreader). But this Monday I also sorted produce for the food pantry: apples, pears, onions, carrots, etc.

Before: "Why is no one paying attention to me?"
After: "Someone is paying attention to me!"

I guess one serious post I will make is this: there is a real movement to threaten, endanger, and literally kill journalists for doing their jobs. The tactics (doxing, stalking, calls for doxing and stalking, death threats, lies or misleading statements in order to stir people up) are replicable and are being replicated. This is now part of the job description. It shouldn’t have to be. The only allies we have are members of the public who can discern and call out dishonesty.
