Probably the biggest change in how I use Linux in recent years has been the advent of universal package formats, in particular @flatpakappsnews - youtube.com/watch?v=bFHfmWPaTJ

A proper apology has Five (5) parts:
1. Comes from a place of genuine contrition (Tone matters).
2. Accepts responsibility.
3. Acknowledges exactly what was done wrong.
4. Commits to preventing or mitigating future errors.
5. Is followed by real, meaningful changes in behavior.

Thank you @federicomena for reminding people how to disclose security vulnerabilities (especially in FOSS projects) in a way that is beneficial for everyone.

We need people who check open source code for security vulnerabilities, because bugs only become shallow if enough eyeballs actually turn to them.
But we also need those people to report them in a way that does not do harm.

Icon Library by @bilelmoussaoui is here, and it's awesome!

It's the best way to find symbolic icons to use in your mockups and apps. Find icon names, copy icons into Inkscape, and include them in your project as gresources.

Get it while it's hot flathub.org/apps/details/org.g

Scratch Desktop is in the Flathub app store!

Now installing and upgrading in Linux is easier than ever.

Kudos to @refi_64 to make it possible

#OSTree deduplication and delta updates are amazing.

Sure, #Flatpak apps are a bit big as they bundle their libraries…

But then I just updated Totem, a 8.5MB app, and the total download for the update was… 1.0KB. 🤩

A new #Fedora release is always a good reminder to use 3rd party apps as flatpaks if possible. They're not influenced by changes in the system that happen during system upgrade. This time #Slack client doesn't work with F29 glib 2.28, #VLC from #RPMFusion has broken dependencies.
