a couple of weeks ago, the xrandr commands that set up my external monitor resolution randomly stopped working unless i moved them from my i3 config to my fuckin .bashrc. thankfully my computer opens a terminal window on boot. couldn't get it to work reliably any other way, i guess it needs some kinda delay now???
but like, what the fuck. why do i have to do that

@jk that sounds a bit like the problems I had with getting the monitor configuration right for Stumpwm.

I had to put a 10 second delay before and after (as far as I remember) the xrandr calls to get it to work. I have no idea why.
