If my math is right, VA (D) picked up 12 seats* (!) with another 5 too close to call at the moment. The only clean R win I see in a contested district so far is VA-100. Virtually no one expected these kind of margins!

I'm going to have to go check my math.

(* still ballots left to count, so +/-, but a lot of the races are like 95% precincts reporting)

Re contested district races:

D pickups that were pretty clear early on: 2, 31, 32, 42, 67

D pickups that were nail-biters: 12, 13, 72

D pickups that not many expected Rs to lose: 10, 50, 51, 73

too close to say at the moment: 21, 94, 40, 68, 85

clear R wins: 100

Soooo... 12ish to 17 seats. 17 would turn the House over. I don't think that'll happen. Bodes well for continued progress in 2018, though, given how gerrymandered to hell and back these were.
