@joshmillard I love how far you've gone into this. Also, for some reason this is starting to remind me of cisterian numerals! I'm going to have to crack open your threads sometime and see if you have an ordinal mapping for these
@phooky I don't, really; I've enumerated the N=4 set a couple different ways but in basically arbitrary fashion with a focus on just the unique configurations under transformation rather than the (much larger) complete set of layouts with rotations and reflections.
It'd certainly be possibly to take sort of ordinal approach to give it an unambiguous numerical value per configurations, though I suspect it'd still be a mess and make cisterian numerals look positively friendly, heh.
