I'm rebuilding chrome in the hope that maybe timeline updating is only broken on firefox / depends upon some non-standard chrome feature.
@joshmillard yeah i can't actually leave it open in a browser tab or eventually i come back to thrashing laptop fans and a maxed out CPU.
