idea: bioshock but instead of all the splicers being mental illness caricatures, they're Get Out style caricatures of white fragility/hostility drawn from the lived experiences of the game's exclusively non-white writers.
you, legitimately smarter than me, responding: stock console FPS gameplay married to a woke fiction is still rhetorically toothless, im-sim pretensions notwithstanding.
@jplebreton me, an intellectual: there is no ethical consumption of gamefeel under capitalism
@jplebreton @tariqk christ that's terrifying and also should please be a real game.
Also I had a showerthought about a followup movie to Get Out except based on the idea that we're all living in an abandoned racist theme park. Starts like Zombieland headed to an actual theme park but then you realize thru run-ins that the whole "black ppl like watermelon, the bastards" joke was a racist's sick way of getting back at former slaves enjoying themselves, etc etc etc.
@tariqk @jplebreton (brought to you by the realization that a whole bucketload of racism was and is "just a joke" ... indeed I can imagine an actual racist theme park with actual horrible stuffed characters in frightening amounts of realism. And it'd fit with the whole "spring break horror movie is actually a movie where we learn a lot about humanity and our real demons" trope.
@jplebreton I'd probably play it.
(Also I still need to watch Get Out, I hope it's still in theatres.)
