I’d like to quit Twitter in the wake of what’s happened to third party Twitter clients, and I can socially, but I don’t know how to leave it or replace the role that it plays in my job. I’m sure that’s got to be true for so many writers and others who rely on real time communication. Maybe I can rebuild it with Mastodon, but right now it doesn’t feel like it’s there.
@julipuli Tweetbot working for me now
@DoItForMeSolutions not for me.
@julipuli worked briefly, then continues to error out.
Probably a brief moment of luck based on a server rebooting or load balancing spin-up that had 3rd party API not disabled until it fully booted up?
@julipuli while tweetdeck is still a necessary part of my job at this point, I have also found that Mastodon is necessary (enough of the conversation has moved over). Neither are replacements for the other yet, unfortunately. Here were some of my one-month-in impressions on using Mastodon in a tweetdeck-like way https://journa.host/@spencerdailey/109550540019073158
@spencerdailey thanks, this is helpful! I was wondering about building lists with Mastodon
@julipuli Fwiw, you may wish to fill out your public profile more completely.
I clicked to see what you write about, but there's nothing there (and I'm not curious to head over to the bird to find out.)
Anyway, good luck. It's different here, but overall it's a good place and I hope you find success!
@glowrocks thanks, I will! I hadn’t really officially transitioned over here, but totally forgot about adding more.
