(I also read recently about chine-collé and now need to get some colored tissue paper so I can experiment. I do miss when I block-printed more.)
After some mild friction on a software release last week, I've started work on a new tool to facilitate (but not automate) generating changelogs from git logs. As a tool for trimming logs, I have of course named it: bunyan.

I haven't made any of these diagrammatic cocktail recipes in far too long, so I put together one for a drink that @rhiannonstone and I made for the first time this week: https://cocktail.graphics/cocktail/la-sirena-clandestina-s-amaro-cocktail
Things I did on Thanksgiving:
· Wrote a small Rust implementation of an existing data format
· Used that data format as part of specifying a board game I'm writing
· Spent the day lazily with my partner, who made amazingly delicious bo ssam
· Made three new cocktails, and a few old ones
It was a very good day.

I just arrived after driving from Portland to Denver. 16 hours total, spread across two days. I don't do it much (for many reasons) but I genuinely love solo long distance drives.

…has someone built an RSS reader with Google Reader-like social features that are OStatus- and therefore Mastodon-compatible?

I have a current personal project where I've given myself free reign to bikeshed and reinvent wheels as much as I want. Maybe paradoxically, this has meant I make very good progress on the overall project. Turns out, building a good, solid wheel is an engaging and rewarding task that makes me excited to work more on the project.
With all the new people coming to Mastodon, I'll do another quick #introduction Show more
I'm Getty. I'm a bi cis dude living in #pdx; programmer by trade and hobby, linguist by training (and speaks French, Italian, Mandarin, Esperanto, smatterings of Russian and Japanese), also interested in fiction writing, digital + traditional art and design, music, cooking, cocktail-making, and various intersections and combinations of the previously listed things.
Recently I've been writing a novel—not a good novel, but a novel nonetheless—and over the weekend I hit the 40k word mark, which makes it feel more like a Real Actual Thing I Am Making instead of just an oversized Markdown file. It's a very satisfying feeling.
