Yet another tragedy showing that *guns are the problem*.

No amount of background screening would have caught this, and given it's on a farm, there's definite practical reasons for them being there as "tools".

Short of a blanket ban on all firearms, mass killings seem like they will be inevitable.

@kit_darko the eternal takeaway from all these things is that there's no one solution to everything but increased funding and access to mental health care sure as hell wouldn't hurt.

The kicker is that there is no sign of any mental health issues.

We assume that there's a mental health issue if we can't see anything else, but I don't think that's a reasonable assumption to have.

@kit_darko I think it's fair to say that someone who did something like that had some mental health issues.

My point was intended more generally though, I don't think any legislative approach can solve the problem in isolation, we need to be paying a lot more attention to mental health as well, as a society, if we're going to reduce incidents like this.
