@Miredly that it is! It's ultimately a happy ending but good lord it'll put you through the wringer as much as the characters, if not more.

@Nezumi Jin-Roh The Wolf Brigade! It's a pretty old anime that has a slightly dystopian political edge, and uses surreal fairy tales themes mixed with pointed takes on guerilla warfare pretty effectively. Can be low-key disturbing, but a high quality watch for sure.
