Does someone know, if I want to (/s) into which should I use to keep the same quality ? Opus is more efficient, so I can slightly lower the bitrate right ? Like 256kbit/s or something ?

@lambadalambda Even if I can't get a version of that file ? I thought even if It's lossy I can at least keep the same quality.

@kyzen transcoding from a lossy format to another lossy format always makes the quality worse. You shouldn't do it for such slight filesize decrease. What you could try is convert it to 128bk opus and see if you can hear the difference. It should sound worse, but maybe it's not noticable.

@lambadalambda stupid question : If I transcode a mp3 file to flac for exemple, I will keep the "quality" of the original mp3 ? (I know, It will not improve the quality :p ). It's stupid and there is no reason to do that, but I'm just curious.

@kyzen yes, transcoding from a lossy to a lossless format will keep the sound exactly the same.
