I wish more cities would be that bold: "The superblocks are groups of streets where traffic is reduced to close to zero, with the space formerly occupied by cars given over to pedestrians and play areas."

@jwildeboer good point, I agree. Hamburg (where I live) is facing similar issues.

@lenzgr not mentioned in the article is the bus system which runs north/south and east/west at high frequency

you can get anywhere in the city with one transfer, by going 'up and over' or 'over and up'
