well i finished the vegan haggis already & am feeling peckish, lol. i knew that would happen
so what we will do is sacrifice this one tonight. more as a taster, then i can change a few things for tomorrows one
we are having an extra person over tomorrow to join both O & i, so would be good to tweak the recipe. plus i love vegan haggis. though ive never bought it, only made it. this one was done with someone elses recipe & im happy with it
300g portobello mushrooms - chopped
1 medium onion - chopped
1 big carrot - grated
1 cup oats
1/3 cup split peas - boiled 20mins
1/3 cup pearl barley - boiled 20mins
1/2tsp black pepper
600ml veg stock - using 2 or 3 cubes
2tsp black treacle
directions on cooking in next thread post
fry onions in butter until soft.
add mushrooms & cook for about 6/8min or nice & soft.
mix in grated carrot for about 6/7min.
add 350/400ml of stock.
add spice mix.
keep stirring to not burn & add boiled & drained split peas & pearl barley.
cook until stock has been soaked up.
add rest of stock.
keep cooking until stock has been soaked up completely.
spoon into buttered/oiled bread tin.
stick in 180degree oven 20/30mins until crispy browned on top
