Pinned toot

Well this is a bit nice isn't it? Hello, I'm Holly and I'm a writer, cosplayer and amatuer tailor. I'm pretty fond of Star Wars

@stitchy_mcbitchy as Zeniba from Spirited Away. This was a magical shoot, felt like my childhood had come to life and being part of that was wonderful :)

Hello all! I’m sorry it’s been so long since I updated, but I have been travelling. I promise I will post some articles about my travel looks soon! As for now, I promised a while ago I would do an article on shopping thrifty so here it is. Hope you enjoy.

A painting for my DM - a #tiefling named Shivarie. Unfortunately I hit the deadline and couldn't put any more time into the BG. You can see the full version on my Tumblr (dagoth)! #dnd #art #mastoart #creativetoots

Honestly, feeling so demoralized by cosplay at the moment. Everything I start goes wrong. I feel like my heart isn't in it. I don't even work on Hux :(

fun behind the scenes pictures with Laura in her Merida costume! This shoot worked out so well (despite the weather turning against us). Everyone did so well even if we were freezing cold!

For the last 6 months myself and Meggo Photography, along with an amazing team of writers and cosplayers have been putting together a cosplay bookagazine (hate this “word”) based here in the UK.

The Cosplay Journal is a coffee table type magazine that focuses on the art, craft and diversity within the UK community, promoting Cosplay for All. Everyone, no matter who they are, should be able to feel that they can get involved!

I'm so rubbish at remembering to update here XD been shooting for the Cosplay Journal today! Super exciting!

Welcome to the second in this series of articles. Last time, we talked a little bit about the background of cosplay, where it came from, what it entails and why people do it, but I think it’s time we touched on how to get involved.

This I time focusing on how to get started with your first cosplay. I know that several people have said they'd love to try it but don't know where to start, well I hope this can help!

Hey, I'm totally a professional and this totally wasn't set up on my bedroom floor because that had the nicest look to it. Nope. Not at all.

I've had to deal with the idea of looking NB since I came out, I've always found it oddly upsetting that I had to be or look a certain way to be considered the gender I am. I tried to put that into words.

Ok, so I have two more articles to write for the Cosplay Journal, one for WWAC and one for the Chap along with an interview transcription in the next few weeks. I actually feel oddly on top of this.

just realised that "st disco" is an abbreviation for "Star Trek Discovery", and not, as I had previously believed, an unusually google-proof musical artist called Saint Disco

Well this is how I spent my Friday evening. Behind the scenes of a shoot of our "cosplay workspace: crafting small scale" piece for the Cosplay Journal!
So much exciting stuff happening!

When you want to cosplay at a con but you are also press and really wanna be comfy...
Discworld shenanigans ensue!

Accidentally started drama in the sewing community on fb by asking what the difference between tailoring and dressmaking was.
I feel a bit like the guy who accidentally starts a bar fight then slips out the back.

The list of things I need to do for the magazine keeps getting longer and longer and it's all very stressful. Why did I decide to do this? It's so much to do.
