I'm still debating getting a record player.
@lindseyb cool :radio: records are pretty great
@lindseyb There are some pretty nice USB-enabled ones out there, I hear. Regular audio out, plus shows up as USB audio device.
@lindseyb Pro tip: Don't get it without a record cleaner!
@lindseyb Get one. If nothing else, you can raid vinyl shops without looking like a weirdo and your musical tastes will expand.
@lindseyb fwiw, I vote yes
@lindseyb You totally should. It's a nice change of experience to have around. And after listening to garbage vinyl I've had for ages from garage sales, it's amazing how good nice new releases actually sound
@lindseyb Give vinyl a shot and see if you like it! You can find a decent turntable for about $100. Plus, record shopping is an awesome past-time, especially when you find a gem or two in an unexpected place like a thrift-store 🙂
@lindseyb you should, esp. since record store day is approaching.
@gracesdress oooh what is that
@lindseyb it's basically Black Friday for record geeks. Every year there are exclusive releases solely for record store day. Here's the list for this year: https://s3.amazonaws.com/recordstoreday/2017/2017_RSD_PUBLIC.pdf
@lindseyb because Fry's has a weirdly large vinyl selection for an electronics store?
@trotsky sadly I dont have access to fry's
@lindseyb do it! Make sure you have good speakers though.
