Took my blood and my name and asked my age
Told me all my friends were on their way
And I'm just late in the game

Ceci a déjà commencé.

That ADHD tip to set a timer for 10 minutes and clean an area of your home has transformed my life. Daily it's 10 minutes cleaning, 5 minutes cleaning my office, and load and unload the dishwasher. Everything is getting so clean! Got myself real dishes, real flatware, and real glasses as a good job for staying on top of the dishes. No more spending money on disposable everything. When I've done my 3 daily tasks I check it off in the game app Habitica. It's the only thing that's ever motivated me to clean.
This might be #ADHD related, maybe not. But it's definitely #neurodivergent
I struggle at work, but almost everything is just in my head. Like they tell us what to do, but we can't but we have to, but the material is missing and so on and so forth (stopping me here or it'll make a novel). Till now, I always thought that the shaking I've got is just that. But now I kinda realised, it's a #meltdown . I'm having #meltdowns every fucking day and it disabled me already once.
Someone have advice?

Anyone have any experience with the so-called « migraine glasses »? I can’t play indoor sports because the rest of the day is ruined by migraine, I’m suspecting the harsh indoor lights are to blame, and I’m looking for solutions other than sunglasses (which I’ll try at some point, odd looks be damned).
The Uniquely Human podcast has a new discussion with Dr Devon Price. Lots of insight, very much recommended.

Self-described “autism parents” who “love their child with autism” have reportedly been left disappointed after discovering there’s no medal for loving your own offspring. Graeme and Karen Hoyland, both 38, have insisted that they wouldn’t change seven-year-old Finley Rice for the world – “even though...
Eeek my book is in print! So beyond thrilled with how beautiful it looks. Asked for gold letters as it's a book by #Autistic people and Au is periodic symbol for gold.

The show The Pitt has representation, better than most shows I’d say.
Here’s an interview worth reading if you care about that sort of thing:
Today's thought on a #SpendingStrike. I guess I've effectively been doing it for a while, as part of my goal to #OptOut of the capitalist death grind as far as one (globally privileged) person can.
But I'm finding it helpful to codify the idea a bit more.
I've concluded there are basically three different ways to withhold spending from the billionaire class :
AVOID - e.g. don't buy it/spend it at all. We don't need that "labour-saving" gadget, or disease-ridden cruise.
REDIRECT - e.g. shop local, co-op, secondhand, sole trader, farm gate. Redirect transport spending to an ebike, good walking shoes and/or a transit card instead of a fossil fuel car.
POSTPONE - e.g. rediscover old- fashioned thrift, like sewing on a button, using leftovers creatively to make a new meal instead of throwing them out, getting every last scrap out of tubes, squeeze bottles and jars.
I think these categories help me to up my #SpendingStrike game. "How can I avoid/redirect/postpone this specific spend?"
Always looking for more ideas.
Salutations #mastonautes !
I’m trying to find a list of tv shows with good autistic-centered and affirming representation (Dinosaur, a kind of spark etc.). Is there a community-owned, authoritative, and regularly updated web page that you know of? I’m finding stuff all over the place, and I’m not sure I want to build one from scratch at this point (although it might come to that when I get more energy).
An example that checks some boxes, but not enough:

Any tips ?
