I intend to switch from sway to awesome (mostly due to issue with sharing screen). To do that, I need to port my keyr daemon (https://git.sr.ht/~lthms/keyr/) to X11. It’s basically a keylogger which counts keystrokes.
I am looking for a simple keylogger program to start with, similar to https://git.sr.ht/~sircmpwn/wshowkeys but for X11.
Any suggestion Mastodon?
@lthms I've no idea about the answer, but I hope a boost will help at least a tiny bit.
(Although my own questions of this kind never got answered by Fediverse :( Someday…)
@minoru Side note: I ran into https://github.com/anko/xkbcat/blob/master/xkbcat.c which looks like what I want, I just need to check whether or not it does not miss any keystrokes
