Useful to consider localization as early as you can when working on UI. "When text is translated from one language to another, the length of the source and translated text is likely to be different. There are some ways in which these differences in length can be systematic."

Had worked before with the assumption that character counts when translating from English to French or Spanish increase 30–50% on average.

Had not, until now, heard that the relative increase is inversely proportional to the length of the English string.
