#Mastodon Announcement:
We would like to make a distinction regarding the work @Gargron and I are doing, and the greater community. Gargron's work in regards to the Mastodon Project is only concerned with the software. That's his thing, and his goal. My work as a Project Manager for the Mastodon Project is thus also mainly revolved around that.
However, we want to help you get the word out when other projects pop up which are of the greater good of the community. That being said:
If anyone want to build a liaison team, which help facilitate dialogue between instance admins and users on other servers, we will be behind you, and help you spread the word, and help you get access and contact where we can. We will also help you spread the word about any funding model you choose, or don't choose.
This is part of the beauty with an open source project, not only can you take the code and do something new with it, but you can also make your own project in the social aspect of it
Gargron and I, in regards to the Mastodon Project would only become a bottle neck, to help with these matters. So it is better that we understand that the community needs this, and let it free. We do not have to own it.
As in regards to mastodon.social and it's admin team, we have discussed how that can be improved on our side.
is this the kinda work you'd be interested in doing?
@maloki possibly! would it be per instance or are you thinking more generally?
@creatrixtiara overarching. So like you (the group) could help user A on server C get in touch with admin E on server D, in regards to user B who's harassing user A from server D. (example)
And maybe like, have different translators who can get in touch with server admins or users as well.
No idea if this makes any sense.
@maloki no that makes sense. interesting. will have to thinka bout it (mostly in term of scheduling)
@creatrixtiara maybe just start by finding folk. Maybe you can at least help a group get organized? 😎
@maloki I'd rather have someone else start the organising (because again time commitments!! being the first person to organise is a LOT of effort!)

Maybe we could use #MastoLiaison to organize. Or some other way. I do not know.
