Same week as I get hired back on Mastodon everyone moves to :blobugh:

Coincidence? I think not! :thaenkin:

CONSPIRACY! MOST DEFINITELY! :thinkerguns:

@maloki I'm not moving. No point, really.

If I was running my _own_ server I might consider it.

maloki @maloki

@zigg it wasn't a subtoot as such. I'm just excited that we have a real competitor. More reason to be better!

@maloki @zigg I think Mastodon has a thought leadership position here that shouldn't be undervalued.

Pleroma may be more efficient, but if I install it (and I might because I dislike ruby), I'd be doing so because I can keep using the Mastodon front-end and the Mastodon API.

If Pleroma is a better Mastodon back-end than Mastodon for some users ... odds are good a lot of them will still be using "Mastodon."

@maloki
I wouldn't call it a competitor, this isn't the free market 😜
@zigg

@ciaby why wouldn't decentralized social networking be a free market? Is it because they have to use the same means of communicating with each other?

@maloki
Because we seized the means of communication. And also, because no one is selling anything 😉

@ciaby I mean people are always selling something. There's always a cost, and a transaction.

@maloki if you think in terms of market economy, yes. I hoped that we were not doing that here :)

@ciaby @maloki Just you wait. Soon there'll be spam for "CH34P PL3R0MA FROM C4N4D1AN PH4RMAZY!!!!!!1!!!"

@MightyBigCar
Spam, obviously. The good Pleroma comes only from Europe 😁
