I figured I might at some point have to leave gmail because of data handling. Hadn't expected they'd be so incompetent that things regress to the point of becoming unusable. Today the search box doesn't work in Firefox anymore. Editor focus and scrolling been broken for ages.
@asolovyov @marijn Agreed, that's not ideal. I've been using a third party open source email client on mobile https://github.com/k9mail/k-9 and I'm trying thunderbird on desktop. So far so good.
@marijn How do you know it's incompetence? After all, as a browser supplier they can probably manage compatibility if they try.
@marijn Join the club. I switched because I didn't like the way they were approaching amp. Fastmail has been working great for me so far. Forwarded my gmail to that and set up an email @ a domain that I own (wish I did that years ago instead of trusting google in the first place)
