Today is a good day to tell you about my page, since today you can not only help me, but also effected by the LA fires by buying some off of Bandcamp.

But you don't have to buy mine... There are plenty of really great artists on Bandcamp and today is a great day to invest in some new music and help out your fellow musicians at the same time.

Thanks for tolerating my shameless self promotion.

Transonic RegimeTransonic RegimeI am a solo producer making digital music. I have been a musician for as long as I can remember. Producing these tracks has been a hobby of mine for well over 20 years. I am now trying to take it more seriously and finally feel confident enough to share it with the world.

I have spent the last couple decades making electronic .
Years of time in a DAW.
Years of time in sequencers.
Years of time with Synths.

I have lost my skills on more analog instruments like my and .

So recently I have started to to practice guitar again.

Today I am starting to turn the corner on my calluses. So I can play for longer than 5 mins before my fingers are screaming.

In the age of robots it feels wise to go back to my analog, physical instruments.

My head is spinning this morning. I have been checking out Fedi.tips and wow... I really had no idea what I have gotten myself into here.

This is so much cooler than I realized.

A big thank you to all the people who responded to my call for help!!

Ok, I have been on Mastodon for awhile and love it. But, I think I need to dive a little deeper.

Are there any experts willing to help?

I am starting to realize there are a bunch of servers and I am a bit confused about how each server interacts and how account access different servers and so on.

What I would really like to have is a sort of Mastodon manual. Does this exist?

If not, I would appreciate a hand with some of the details so I can get more out of this experience.

I have just discovered that my best cymbal samples in my whole collection are on my Korg Triton.

I have had this thing since it came out in back in 1999. And its was a workhorse in my music back then. I started using Reason and this beauty of an instrument sat unused for years as I moved to mostly in-the-box production.

Now I am exploring hardware again. I decided to pull it out and set it up.

Honestly I am shocked at how good it sounds.

Matsumuri boosted

Finally, if you're a musician who's been covered before or someone who reads the blog regularly to find new music, could I get a boost? I don't advertise, so my reach's sole means of expansion is y'all. Spread the word! Thanks in advance if you can help.

One of my favorite things about this site is that there is an end. Every day I come on in the morning and check what has been posted. And every day I hit the top of the feed from yesterday.

No algorithm, no fomo, just the activity from my follows since yesterday.

I love that.

Thank you for being amazing and making this place so great!

I love you all.

I feel like I am turning a corner.

For a long time I have been trying to make more complex music.

I would think, "this is too blocky, its too repetitive, no one will like it like I do."

Then I would go about trying to learn a new technique to create more complex music that evolves like a classical piece does. Never really happy with the results.

Recently it hit me. Maybe I like loop based music.

If I program a 16 bar loop and solo over it for 20 mins and its fun?

Maybe that's enough.

More and more I find myself turning off everything but some good music and just ignoring the world.

Playing any instrument also brings so much peace and calm.

I am so grateful for music. It is possibly my favorite part of this existence.

A friend of mine was asking...
How long should you wait between buying ?

If he just bought, oh I don't know... lets just say an inexpensive analog polysynth, and lets say it was about 2 weeks ago... would it be too soon to buy another.

This friend really has GAS huh?

New , sort of.

I am sharing this because it represents the first track in a new process I am trying.

I am going back to a more analog workflow for at least the beginning of projects and then moving to a hybrid workflow to do final mix down.

This is a very simple idea more to test the process than anything. A very simple arp with a modulating delay time and a simple drone pad and drums. It is also in a completely different style than I usually create.

So its only been a few days...
New workflow. Change is tough.
I spent hours jamming but no recording yet.

There is something immediate about sitting in front of a DAW. The record button is close. I know editing is easy.

However, with this more analog workflow, I have not even come close to being ready to hit record.

I had no idea how much I was leaning on my midi generators and the confidence of knowing I can edit everything.

Ok let's give this whole thing a shot.

I have been considering a Tascam Model series mixer for quite a while now as a way to increase inputs in my hybrid project studio. Now with the Model 2400 release it feels like the right time to jump in. Multitrack audio over USB, 22 analog channels, decent effects, and a nice looking box.

Is there any other product I should be considering?

details which might help:
Synth musician, 5 hardware synths.
decades of experience
analog dreams.

I have been on a sort of quiet kick lately. I have still been making music but I have not been posting. I have barely even opened any social media apps besides Discord and the occasional info seeking on Youtube. Instead I have used the time to explore my gear, flip through presets, make silly grooves I later delete, and generally just enjoying my studio space with no regard for its output.

I feel no less fulfilled... in fact quite the contrary.
