It's time to replace my car. The whole radiator is leaking and needs to be replaced, or I'll be filling the coolant every day. Anybody have a good lead on a Ford Focus, Honda Civic, or another car with a low total-cost-to-own? #xpost
@witti It's the last straw in a lot of failing systems in this car.
However, now I went ahead and bought a radiator, and a friend of mine is helping me install it next week. The repair shop was going to charge me for labor, 18 times the cost of the part.
@mattarnold
Domestic US barands aren't my cup of tea, expensive to buy, same to maintain.
Honda is a good choice if the steep buying price isn't an issue, known to be very low cost maintenance. Same for Toyota.
Runner up, Hyunday/Kia, since 2010ish, (best after 13). Known to made lemons years back, now they make reliable models like elantra, forte, rio. and still cheaper than Japanese/domestic cars.

@mattarnold I don't have good let's, but I had good luck using the website CarGurus in tracking down a good used car near me a couple of weeks ago.
